Just look at this photo of central Stockholm.
Every big building is doubling in size as the city fathers have allowed banks and real estate developers to knock down and extend above, below and across the older buildings.
The result is a huge increase in office and shopping areas.
At the same time public transport has been improved and increased with new metro lines, tram lines and low emission buses.
Traffic has been removed from the city centre by high tolls around the city.
The only thing is that they appear to not to have is cash for snow clearance – just like our Helsinki, that is suffering from the effects of the highest amount of snow seen for decades!
