The New York Times is reporting that “the Trump administration is expected to formally revoke California’s authority to set auto emissions rules that are stricter than federal standards, taking a major step forward in its wide-ranging attack on government efforts to fight climate change.”
This is a serious attempt to impose a national standard on weak emission rules for traffic the largest source of greenhouse gasses.
California and other states that have also such strict emission limitations will fight Washington right up to the Supreme Court.
This is an awful setback for the world, that the richest country and one of the biggest threats to climate change is following this path…
… and the US automobile companies certainly belong to the US Round Table, so they really do not appear to believe in corporate social responsibility in spite of the US Round Table statement!
Consumers should think seriously about boycotting US travel and products.
