Helsinki City have managed to create a hidden gem – hidden until more and more people start to find this covered market where small cafes and professional food entrepreneurs have started many top class places for great meals.
Le Marché has Ulla, as the owner, and colleagues who serve up delicious combinations for breakfast, lunch and dinner at Hietalahti Covered Market. They are all professionals with many years’ experience running great restaurants.
The products are all fresh and many are made locally. Like their fresh meat sausages – I have not eaten such delicious tasty sausages for years. They easily beat their factory made dull Finnish brothers from Atria and HK!
The salads and soups are samples of classy cooking with picked cabbage, farmer’s pâté and freshly baked bread. Breakfasts with richly foamed dark coffees, buttered croissants and almond croissants…They also produce spelt based pizza and fresh green salads.
And don’t forget to try their grocers shop – with many local Finnish delicacies from small farms and specialist food producers.
